Crowns

Due to advances in modern dental technology, our office can replace old crowns with new  inlays, onlays, veneers or crowns in the same day. They are more aesthetically pleasing and blend with the natural tooth.

Victor Family Dentistry uses state-of-the-art CAD/CAM technology with a computer, camera and milling machine to make tooth-colored restorations. With this technology crowns can be made in one visit saving the patient time. Some of the benefits of dental crowns are replacing missing teeth, supporting broken or misshaped teeth – replenishing the natural look and feel, and helping make chewing more comfortable and efficient.

What are the capabilities of crowns?

Crowns are a fast and reliable treatment for many dental issues. Teeth can break down over time due to accidents, disease, natural wear and tear or hairline cracking. Crowns are made from ceramic or porcelain bonded to gold. The combination of materials are selected to suit the nature of the dental issue.

Many of our patients experience unexplained pain in their teeth which is usually a result of treatable  fractures. Crowns are a conservative way to treat this issue and can return the tooth to full function.

In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause “appearance” problems due to staining or chipping.  Ceramic crowns and bridges are suitable in cases where porcelain veneers are not. In teeth with root canal treatments, crowns can help lessen the chance of fracture and tooth loss.
