Bonding

If veneers aren’t the right choice for you, we offer bonding as an alternative. Bonding is a restorative procedure for chipped, cracked, discolored, or misshaped teeth.

How Does it Work?

If you and Dr. Lowenguth have decided that bonding is the best course of action for you, the procedure is quick and isn’t painful.

The teeth are prepared for bonding by lightly etching the surface and applying the bonding liquid. Once the bonding liquid sets we apply a resin and sculpt the tooth into the desired shape. After the shape is sculpted the resin is set, polished, and smoothed to appear more natural.

Important Considerations

Bonding is a single-visit treatment. Our goal is to improve the functionality and appearance of the teeth of our patients. However, the bonding resin is not as strong as natural tooth material. Bonded teeth are more likely to chip stain, or crack than natural enamel.
